Under “security”, there’s an line that says: App- specific passwords. Hit the highlighted “generate password”. Then enter a label any word will work.

You’ll be given a password. Enter that in the password line where you’re ring you log in. Use tgat instead of your Apple password. Be sure and include the “-” when entering.

If you’re not using two-factor authorisation you have to turn it on and generate a password as specified above. It would appear that Apple don’t allow access from 3rd party apps, unless they have an app specific password.
