This is cool. Hopefully optimized to work better than the stand alone. I have the stand alone, Melodyne can become a real CPU hog fast. Most likely at least, depending on if I jump on sequoia. I’m gonna play around w pro x some then decided if I’m going to just upgrade where I am, go sequoia, or upgrade and grab prox3 so I can run it on up to 6 computers.
Either way I don’t want to get too far behind just because I would imagine the pro x 4 upgrade will cost more relatively speaking. I think I remember they incorperate some ozone features too. Perhaps the metering? Not trying to sell this software to anyone but because I use it, I just received this in my inbox today, so I thought it might interests others. Interesting, some of the Euro music out today is sure not my thing but what I find more interesting, how refreshing it is to see a women mastering.
I think I have only heard of one other in my 40 years at this. At the bottom of this post there is a link to upgrade Pro X 3 for a substantial discount. In our latest interview we talk to mastering engineer Heba Kadry about working with artists such as Neon Indian.
Based in “Timeless Mastering” studio in New York, Kadry has used Sequoia for mastering albums for a whole range of artists. In our full-length interview she gives us an insight into her workflow, describes her influences in terms of music production and explains why the object editor in Sequoia is one of her favorite tools to work with.
At the Ask. In addition to Melodyne essential, it includes the ARA interface, tempo automations for audio recordings and the full version of Sound Forge Pro Anyone care to chime in on using Sound Forge Pro 11? Looks like this is what Magix wanted when they bought it from Sony.
Not sure how this helps Pro X 3 though? I wonder if I should just upgrade now and be done with it. Lol ya just had to put the link didn’t you lol!!! I thought i was done w software for now Thinking deeply about this. I emailed magix some time back and they offer an upgrade discount to sequoia for Sam users.
I have to contact a specific person they don’t publish it. I’m wondering if the Sam upgrade would be wasted money if I went sequoia this year. Annoy thoughts on that audiokid? I’m told but have no idea because all I have ever used is Sequoia right from the very beginning.
But, you should look at it all carefully. Many ME, acoustic classical engineers use Sequoia. I have no idea how to advise you. I like the USB codemeter that comes with Sequoia. I just carry mine around with me. Ask these questions. What’s 4 point editing? The USB stick, does that mean you can only use sequoia on one computer at a time w one license? Ie so would I need two full purchased licenses to have sequoia on the mix and capture daws?
I’ve spent a lot of time researching sequoia it’s defiantely something I could use I like the networking options it has, and Sam ‘only’ does 5. So it’s more a matter of when not if. I’m just sussing out if pro X1 is enough to get be by in the meantime or the thenuograde is worth it. I’m not gonna rush since I can get the education version from studica for , full version. Gonna check out the forum over there, and email the rep to see what I’m looking for at an upgrade from Sam to sequoia, that should settle things.
Also lol, I love how amazingly 80’s those tracks are on heba’s interveiw were. I’ve been into that type of thing the past few months. Lovin it! Hope this helps. I have 2 sticks. You could use Sam and Sequoia, You don’t necessarily need both. Glad you liked her. Looks like I’m gonna have to use 1 sequoia only I can’t justify two. I do love the idea that the mix and capture daws are identical. Less variables. But it’s just something I’ll have to get used to if I snag sequoia.
Thanks for the vid I’ll check it tomm, it’s been a long day. Thanks man, I appreciate it. Its why I use both. Less chance of being fooled and more fun exchanging data etc. Pushed the button on the upgrade earlier this week but being ever cautious won’t be installing it until the current crop of projects is finished Keith Johnson, post: , member: wrote: Pushed the button on the upgrade earlier this week but being ever cautious won’t be installing it until the current crop of projects is finished That’s probably the only b i t c h I have about Magix, is that you need separate licenses for each computer.

I think they should allow each user 2 licenses ; or, at least, a seriously reduced rate for the second license It would also make it much easier for those who use the 2-DAW workflow.
I mean, to be fair, I do get their point; their hesitancy to allow multiple licenses, because of those people who might re-sell one of the licenses to someone else at a reduced price I don’t know anyone who uses Samp or Sequoia who isn’t a professional , and who doesn’t have the ethics that true professionals have. Besides, I would think that if someone really wanted to crack a copy of Samp or Sequoia, there are probably torrent sites that already make that possible.
IMHO of course. I agree Donny. There really should be a more fair way to license the software for both the client and software company. It’s definately not out of the question to have a studio computer or two or more , a laptop for wherever, and another one at home.
I think it’s good that some companies are allowing for this. Izotope has no restrictions as long as you own the machines you can install as many as you want. Magix allows 3 seats for Samplitude. So you can have it on three computers at once. You have to deactivate one of the licenses if you want to put it on another. Like if you get a new computer or work at a different studio for a project. That’s more than fair. Sequoia is the same as avid as far as the single license. I did contact magix about a discount for sequoia for Samplitude users.
They offer it for 2k instead of 3k which is still by no means cheap, but better than paying full price. I wonder if sequoia offers any discounts for sequoia owners. IMHO they should at least do the same as Samplitude or ideally a deeper discount.
I just took the upgrade plunge today for Sam pro x 3. The audio to midi functionality seemed worth it along w melodyne. I’m still unclear if I got the right upgrade and support was unable to confirm today in time, somtjey said simply to purchase it and if it’s not right, there’s a 30 day no questions asked refund.
I’m unsure if I bought an upgrade from prox3 to prox3 suite, or from my version pro x suite to pro x 3 suite. I’ll call Monday. Keith Johnson congrats on the upgrade! If you don’t mind me asking what version did you have previously?
It might help shed some light on my situation. X2 Suite, originally from the ‘normal’ Pro X Big fan of the full versions of things like AM-munition so when they offered me the original upgrade for essentially peanuts I leapt at it. It’s been a long day! DonnyThompson, post: , member: wrote: I think they should allow each user 2 licenses ; or, at least, a seriously reduced rate for the second license Sequoia, I carry a codemeter stick. Works great but I hear what you are saying.
Samplitude is different. As Kyle mentioned DonnyThompson, post: , member: wrote: It would also make it much easier for those who use the 2-DAW workflow. I’m working on this, with them. Looking forward to hearing about it!
Keith Johnson, post: , member: wrote: Big fan of the full versions of things like AM-munition so when they offered me the original upgrade for essentially peanuts I leapt at it. Awesome, more of us. How cool. Thanks Keith that eases my mind a bit, think I’m in the clear. I’d be curious to hear what your thoughts are on any of the new features when you get a chance to play around with them.
They must have changed their policy on that – when I got into Samp back in ’14, they were only allowing one license per user. This is great news. I’m pretty sure i read it in the license agreement fairly recently. But here’s a screenshot from the forum. Attached files. Pro X3 has a good looking mixer. Couldn’t resists using it as my new avatar. Yeah they include a ‘skins’ pack on the new one. I think they’re getting the point that people judge by looks a lot.
Reminds me of Adobe audition. Very clinical. Super excited to get going! I just checked a private torrent site and found Sequoia 13 which has been on the site for 8 months and has a total of 3 downloads so it doesn’t look like piracy is taking too big a bite.
I personally will not use cracked or pirated software but I am frustrated for sure by restricted licenses that make is hard to use software you’ve bought or fail to see how today’s working musician needs to be able to use the tools across multiple platforms like you said, at the studio, at home, on a laptop.
I also get frustrated when you can’t demo software try before buy. Sequoia looks good and it’s on my radar but far out in the distance at this point. Very interesting. I wonder if it’s because people would rather be fashionable with a diff program, or because people just don’t know about sequoia.
Perhaps magix needs a little help on the marketing side of things? Maybe their happy right where they are. I wonder if ‘neve style’ skins for the mixer would increase interest. Their original remit was fairly different than most, though, with Sequoia at least In the classical world it’s well used alongside other alternatives like Pyramix and Sadie.
Well magix confirmed that the version I purchased was the full pro x 3 suite, just for the upgrade price! Thanks a million chris! I went to register my serial number and there is a few options for which version I’m a little unclear as which one to select.
I’m thinking it’s different languages. Just wondering Keith Johnson which one you selected? Figured I’d ask here before I opened a support ticket w magix.
