For as many times as I restart the video player, the problem repeats! So does the video player work with Microsoft Edge?

If not, is this a browser problem, or a defect with the video player app? No it does not work on MS Edge. I had just opened a problem with DTV and they could not help. If all you want is just streaming, then it works on Chrome, Opera or FireFox. I think IE 11 has the same problem, but I can’t say for sure. But I know I get the exact same message you get using Edge. He is not asking about the DVR Option.

He just wants to do streaming and it should work on all browsers, but it does not work on Edge. Not a problem since the other browsers do work. Directv does not work with Windows 10 and edge and therefore Hulu and Netflix and Amazon, Cable, DishTV do not have this problem like directv with their directv player.

I can’t believe that ATT can’t figure this out. It must be time to move and cancel Directv all together. Don’t buy Directv. This has been going on for months, they should put this in their advertisements as the frustration that customers can look forward to with no response whatsoever!!.

Have uninstalled, reinstalled player and even the browsers and same issue with player. Edge, IE do not work. I can sometimes get it to work on Chrome but even that is dicey. It’s Flash based. Why, in the name of everything holy, would they use Flash? Back to topic, Chrome is iffy, as memtioned.

Next time I try, it again barfs up the restart player error. I get the distinct impression this is a steaming pile of puppy poo.

I contacted Direct TV about this problem and technical support told me to buy a Apple computer. Seriously, that was their answer to the problem. Basically the answer is for those thousands or even millions of customers using Microsoft Windows is to throw away their computers and go buy a Mac. What a joke! Never had this problem with Comcast Infinity. DTV is terrible.

I can’t believe they can’t solve their streaming problem. It sometimes works with Chrome, but more times than not, it does not. You’re right it does work on IE 11 for now. MS is only updating Edge, so we need to get this to work on Edge. And i thought i was the only one that was having this problem. Since May to be exact. DTV made it sound as though it was my computer. MS Chrome what ever the player needed to be installed.

And for the life of me i have uverse internet what should go hand in hand since it is an ATT product. Im like the one above that said no problem with DISH. And as soon as my contract is up i will be going back and getting another internet company. With phones DTV internet in 2 locations.

Time to cut back. For the life of me I don’t understand the animus between these companies. I’ll survive with gbps until then. If I don’t have some sort of Microsoft enabled or supported app, and or access to 4k streaming what am I actually benefitting? Survive with Mbps? Wow, some of us don’t even have Mbps 1. Edge is still a work in progress so maybe Directv is waiting for it to reach a certain point before they make it compatible.

That error message is what you get for any error with the player. There are a bunch of things that could be wrong. You could not have cookies enabled on the browser. You may not have the latest version of flash or java.

Streaming live does work in Windows diretcv and Edge. I am watching it right playfr. WHat you need to do is find where direcvt downloaded the software and then “run as administrator” Make sure you dont have edge running. Install the windosw then try again.
